VIA plants pinwheel gardens in Rehoboth Beach

April 22, 2026

In observance of National Child Abuse Prevention Month during April, Village Improvement Association members planted pinwheels for prevention gardens in front of the convention center and museum in Rehoboth Beach.

The blue pinwheels represent whimsy and lightheartedness, and a vision for a world where all children grow up happy, healthy and prepared to succeed. The blue pinwheels serve as a constant reminder to fight for the protection of children. At least one in seven children has experienced child abuse in the past year.

Village Improvement Association members gathered at the pinwheels garden in front of the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center are (l-r) Cathy Davies-Harmon, Cathy Cofrancesco, Edith Caputo, Cathy Hutchinson, Maribeth Dockety, Carol Zinser, Judith Haines and Barbara Kruger.
