Prudential Gallo Art Exhibit opens April 27

Event features Cape Henlopen art students
April 20, 2012

A select group of Cape Henlopen High School art students will debut an exciting exhibition of work at 6 p.m., Friday, April 27, at the office of Prudential Gallo, Realtors, 37230 Rehoboth Ave. Ext. in Rehoboth Beach. The opening reception for the exhibit is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served courtesy of Touch of Italy in Rehoboth Beach. The work will also be on view daily from 9 a.m to 5 p.m., Mondays through Saturdays, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays through June 6.

This show is the fifth of a series of art exhibitions to be presented by Prudential Gallo Realtors. The wide variety of exceptional student works featured in the exhibit was selected by Cape Henlopen High School art teachers Jason Fruchtman, Colleen Lowe and James Ruback. First, second and third place best of show cash awards will be presented to three lucky students as chosen by professional artist and exhibition curator Michael Sprouse.

Subsequent shows will feature original works by local, state and regional artists. A percentage of the proceeds generated by the sale of the artwork will be used to support the Prudential Gallo - Touch of Italy Foundation to support local charitable organizations and promote the arts in the Cape Region.

The foundation’s first performance event in autumn 2010 benefited Cape Henlopen Education Fund, CAMP Rehoboth, Autism Delaware and the Lewes-Rehoboth Rotary Club Arts Scholarship Fund. The foundation also offers an annual scholarship to a graduating senior in the arts or performing arts from Cape Henlopen High School or Sussex Tech.
