Bill and Nancy Leeman of Lewes recently walked the Camino de Santiago in Spain. They began in St. Jean Pied de Port, France and after walking over 375 miles they arrived in Santiago, Spain. Here they are pictured at Alto de Perdon at an elevation of 780m. The long metal sculpture is dedicated to all the pilgrims who walk the Camino de Santiago, represents pilgrims on foot and on horse and reflects the historical and eternal nature of the walk. Alto de Perdon means “Height of Forgiveness,” and traditionally a pilgrim reaching this height was pardoned, even if he or she didn’t make it all the way to Santiago.
