Reginald O. Brittingham, dedicated volunteer

Reginald O. Brittingham, 87, of Millsboro passed away peacefully at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes surrounded by his immediate family at his side Tuesday, March 2, 2021.  Born in Dagsboro Feb. 9, 1934, Reggie was the son of the late W. Corkran Brittingham and Helen M. Brittingham. 

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Grace Ryan Brittingham; along with a daughter, Bobbi J. Warrington; a son, Michael C. Brittingham (Kathy); and a brother, Donald C. Brittingham (June).

Volunteering was a huge part of his life. This included being a lifetime member of Dagsboro Fire Company, the Dagsboro and Millsboro Little Leagues, a Christian Storehouse volunteer, and a Zoar Church volunteer and member.  He was also an avid sportsman, always coaching, umpiring, playing or watching, and loved life in general. He was also a pool shark!

He also leaves behind  six grandchildren, Jason M. Brittingham, Stacey Schwartzkopf Clark (Gareth), Jamie Brittingham Downs (Rich), Jodie Brittingham Cannon (Bryan), Scott W. Schwartzkopf (Sydney) and Jen Brittingham Farissier (Jason).

Also surviving are nine great-grandchildren, including Chase Brittingham, Chloe Downs, Brandon Cannon, Ryan, Mason and McKenzie Farissier, Emma and Jacob Clark, and Christine Cannon.

A walk-through viewing will take place from noon to 2 p.m., Friday, March 5, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro. A graveside service for the immediate family will follow. A memorial service will be planned for a later date.
