Participants also can choose to walk somewhere else that inspires them, but connected in the mission of the American Heart Association and as a community to celebrate the Heart Walk.
To register, download the Heart Walk mobile app, and launch a personal fundraising page, go to heart.org.
Beebe Healthcare President and CEO Dr. David Tam will serve as chair for the Southern Delaware Heart Walk 2021. The event will be held following all statewide COVID-19 guidelines in place at the time. Proceeds support the American Heart Association, whose mission is to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives.
The Southern Delaware Heart Walk is an opportunity for participants to walk in honor of those who suffer from heart disease and to raise funds to advance research initiatives and community education programs. Heart disease is this nation's No. 1 cause of death, claiming nearly a million American lives a year, more than all forms of cancer combined.
The walk will begin at Rehoboth Beach Bandstand, 1 Rehoboth Ave. in Rehoboth Beach, and will feature a two-mile walk along the Boardwalk, important information on heart health and stroke prevention, sponsor tables, giveaways, healthy fruit and snacks, and entertainment.
Southern Delaware Heart Walk sponsors are Beebe Healthcare and Bayhealth.
