Rehoboth animal hospital to expand to new building

Location will offer extended hours, services
July 2, 2012

Rehoboth Beach Animal Hospital will move to a new state-of-the-art building later this year.

Dr. Tim Dabkowski says the larger building will allow him to expand hours and services. The new two-story veterinary facility is already under construction on Route 1 across from Big Fish Grill.

The new facility will offer four exam rooms, surgery rooms and a special oral surgery room for pets. New equipment and technology will help streamline the practice, he said.

Dabkowski purchased the south Rehoboth animal hospital property in 2009, and started planning the new building in December 2010. He hopes to move in by this December.

"When I bought this property, I knew I would need to expand," Dabkowski said. "Here we only have two exam rooms, so we will be doubling that. I look forward to having an office that isn't also used for storage."

His current tight quarters often lead to squeezing down hallways and longer waits for clients.

"It can get very congested here," Dabkowski said. "We are very excited about the new building, and it will help us serve more patients."

The animal hospital has about 14 employees, but Dabkowski hopes to add another veterinarian and more office staff at the new location. He said he plans to keep the office open until 8 p.m.

"The new state-of-the-art building will help us provide better medicine for our clients," Dabkowski said. "It will be more visible and have access from Route 1 and Rehoboth Ave."

The Rehoboth Beach Animal Hospital was established in the 1970s. Dabkowski is its third owner. For more information, call 302-227-2009 or go to www.cvh19971.com.
