The Rehoboth Art league held an opening reception for its 45th Annual Fine Craft Exhibition June 15. This exhibition showcases a wide variety of imaginative crafts that are unique, whimsical and functional, including ceramics, fiber arts and baskets, glass, handmade paper, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media and wood.
Also on display were “Balancing Act” by Susan Frey in the Ventures Gallery and “Femme Fatale” by Megan Burak in the Peter Marsh Homestead gallery.
In her artist statement, Burak writes, “I believe that every woman is a femme fatale in her own way. We can be dangerous, powerful with our bodies, but also with our hearts and minds. This show features a series of portrait oil paintings showing women who redefine femininity and how it inspires their power.”
In her artist statement, Frey writes, “Balancing Act is a new series of acrylic and mixed media works. So many things in our lives revolve around the act of balancing. Or not balancing!”
The exhibition runs through July 22. For more information go to www.rehobothartleague.org.
