July 11, 2025

The Rehoboth Art League will host its 87th Annual Members’ Fine Art Exhibition from Friday, July 18, to Sunday, Aug. 17, at 12 Dodds Lane, Henlopen Acres.

Continuing exhibitions include two shows from RAL’s Fine Art Collection: Inside the Studio of Ethel PB Leach in the DeWitt Gallery and Feathered and Fancy: Avian Interpretations from the RAL Collections in the Homestead.

A reception for all the exhibitions will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., July 18, welcoming all to visit the Corkran, Tubbs, Ventures and Homestead galleries to see the displayed works. The long-standing members’ fine art exhibition highlights artwork by more than 80 member artists in a wide variety of media, including paintings in pastel, watercolor, acrylic, oil and mixed media; sculptures of both metal and wood; photography; and more.

Several traditional awards will be presented by judge Jinchul Kim for outstanding artworks. Kim will give a free gallery talk at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 19, in the Corkran Gallery to provide an overview of his awards decisions and discuss other notable pieces from the members’ fine art exhibition.

A professor at Salisbury University, Kim earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in fine art from King Se-Jong University in Seoul, Korea, before completing another master of fine arts program at the School of Visual Arts in New York. He exhibits his work internationally, with shows in Korea, Japan, France, Spain and the U.S, including a a solo exhibition at RAL last fall.

The Ventures Gallery will continue to showcase an eclectic collection of fine art and craft by RAL member artists. Throughout the summer season, patrons can browse everything from watercolor paintings to wearable fiber art, ceramics and fine-art photography. Each purchase supports a practicing artist, as well as the mission of the Rehoboth Art League.

The Doors of Fame, which feature the signatures of more than 285 prominent artists, creatives and notable citizens from the art league’s history, are also on display in the Homestead and will remain available to view through October.
