Rehoboth Beach’s Bandstand Christmas tree installed

Annual sing-along is cancelled, but keep eyes peeled for Gazette’s ‘Tis the Season publication
November 19, 2020

COVID-19 may have caused the cancellation of Rehoboth Beach’s annual Tree Lighting and Sing-Along at the Bandstand, but there will still be a Christmas tree bringing holiday shoppers cheer.

The 40-foot-tall blue spruce, donated by Lewes couple Jerry and Paula Owens, was installed Nov. 18. The move and installation were made possible by the donated time and efforts of John L. Briggs & Company, George W. Plummer & Son, and Delmarva Power.

Cape Gazette subscribers are scheduled to get their ‘Tis the Season publication in the Tuesday, Nov. 24 edition; newsstands are scheduled to get the holiday publication Friday, Nov. 27. It will also be available online at capegazette.com. The annual ‘Tis the Season publication will be a little different this year – no need for song lyrics – but it’s still chock-full of useful holiday information, including a local gift guide and local chefs sharing their favorite foods.
