Rehoboth Beach’s new sewage treatment plant in 1935

The Rehoboth Beach wastewater treatment plant was built in the farmland outside Rehoboth Beach in 1935.  It was one of thousands of Public Works Administration projects constructed across the United States as part of President Franklin Roosevelt administration’s New Deal initiative to stimulate the economy and create jobs.  The site continues as the location for the vastly upgraded treatment facilities constructed in recent years.
