Rehoboth museum seeks donations to relocate Dolle’s sign

January 26, 2022

As reported by many news outlets, Rehoboth Beach’s iconic Dolle’s sign recently had to be removed from its longtime location at the Boardwalk.

The Rehoboth Beach Museum will provide the new home for the popular Dolle’s sign, and museum officials are asking the public for help with the relocation. The cost of moving the sign to the museum is $35,000. Thanks to some generous donors, the museum already has half of the funds in hand, but it needs the public’s help to raise the rest of the money and make the project a reality.

Anyone who would like to make a donation can go to rehobothbeachmuseum.org and click on the donation link, or mail a check to the Rehoboth Beach Museum, 511 Rehoboth Ave., Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.

The museum team is making it clear that any donations above and beyond the $35,000 total will go into its general operations fund to pay for what makes the museum run, and wants to assure donors that their donations will be well spent.

“Whether members of the public are looking forward to a photo op under the sign or just want to visit a familiar sight, we invite everyone to join in on the fun of preserving one of our town’s famous landmarks, and we’ll see everyone at the Rehoboth Beach Museum,” said Director Nancy Alexander.
