To help save lives by drawing attention to the silent symptoms of ovarian cancer, volunteers and local officials will gather to distribute teal ribbons to be placed around town at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 27, at Rehoboth Beach City Hall, 229 Rehoboth Ave., Rehoboth Beach.
As part of a national campaign to raise awareness about ovarian cancer, the City of Rehoboth Beach is taking part in the annual Turn the Town Teal initiative.
One in 70 women is affected by ovarian cancer, and symptoms are difficult to detect, making this one of the deadliest gynecologic cancers.
