Richard Allen Coalition holds Gala

The Richard Allen Coalition Gala was held Feb. 1 at CHEER Center in Georgetown. The theme was Celebrating Our Rich Heritage, and the keynote speaker was Dr. Howard Stevenson.
Stevenson, a native Sussex Countian and graduate of Cape Henlopen High School, is a professor at the University of Pennsylvania. He is recognized for his work promoting a culture of health for young men of color.
The 2020 honorees are Bernice Edwards, Dr. Reba Hollingsworth, Marlene Hall, Martina Williams, Peggy Trott, and Lorraine Morris.

Dr. Howard Stevenson, Constance Clayton Professor of Urban Education, Professor of Africana Studies in the Human Development & Quantitative Methods Division of the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania, and executive director of the Racial Empowerment Collaborative at Penn.
