Richard Rocco, retired stockbroker
Richard Rocco, 83, of Lewes passed away peacefully at his home on the morning of Saturday, March 20, 2021. He was born March 15, 1938, in Huntington, N.Y., son of the late John and Genevieve Rocco.
Richard was raised on Long Island. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Following college, he built a career as a stockbroker with Janney Montgomery Scott, retiring in 1995 after many dedicated years. In 2004, Richard and his wife moved from Nissequogue, N.Y., to Lewes to be closer to their daughters in Virginia. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting, gardening and traveling. Above all, Richard cherished time spent with those he held most dear. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Richard is survived by his wife of 53 years, Theckla Rocco; his daughters: Jackie (John Giambalvo) and Victoria; his grandchildren: Sophia and Rocco; and his sister, Nola Rocco.
Services will be private. Interment will be held at a later date at St. Peter's Episcopal Cemetery, Pilottown Road, Lewes. Arrangements have been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
