Ringing in the 21st Century at The Renegade

Rene Valerie Vegas was the highlight at The Renegade’s New Year’s Eve party when the world moved from 1999 to 2000. Vegas was suspended in a silver slipper, lowered as the clock counted down to a new millennium. The Renegade, which opened in 1980, was a popular and safe place for the LGBTQ+ community. It remained open until 2002.
