RISE, Revelation event assists Parkinson’s support group

August 4, 2020

RISE Fitness+Adventure and Revelation Brewing joined forces to host a benefit for the Parkinson's Education and Support Group of Sussex County July 30 at Revelation’s outdoor beer garden at Hudson Fields near Milton.

RISE provides space in its Rehoboth Beach fitness facility for support group exercise classes.

The event featured three hours of entertainment, food trucks, wine tasting and beer on tap. A silent auction and 50-50 ticket sales helped raise funds for the group's efforts to support Parkinson's patients throughout the county.

Several members who benefit from the group's programs were on hand, including Bill Berry, who had fellow Rotary Club of Lewes-Rehoboth Beach members attending with him. “We are here to support Bill,” said Jack Riddle.

Taking part in the event were The Frozen Farmer, Grandpa Mac, Coastline Craft Kitchen, KAM Productions, Schell Brothers Project KUDOS and Sposato Family Vineyards.

Parkinson's disease is a brain disorder that leads to shaking, stiffness, and difficulty with walking, balance, and coordination. Parkinson's symptoms usually begin gradually and get worse over time. As the disease progresses, people may have difficulty walking and talking.
