Robert Gould Macintire, retired river pilot

April 5, 2021

Robert Gould Macintire passed away on his 87th birthday Friday, March 26, 2021. He was born March 26, 1934, in Lewes, son of the late Howard Franklin and Fredonia (White) Macintire.

Above all, Bob enjoyed spending time with those he held most dear. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his sister, Ann, and his brother, Jim. He is survived by his beloved wife, Bette (Hickman) Macintire; his sons: Sam (Anette) of Worcester, Mass., and Michael (Andrea) of Palm Harbor, Fla.; his daughter, Mary Sanger (Peter) of Boca Grande, Fla.; and his five grandchildren: Jackson Sanger, Andrew Sanger, Caroline Macintire, Allie Macintire and Emma Macintire.
