Robert W. Doremus, construction co. owner

Robert William Doremus, 55, went to be with his earthly parents and heavenly Father Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his mother, Joan Eileen Cain Doremus; and father, William Arthur Doremus Jr.

He owned and operated B & D Construction Company in Dunncannon, Pa., where he kindly and efficiently helped many people fix everything and anything for many years. He was an avid fisherman, boatman, adventurer and amazing man. He was also an inspirational husband, father, grandpop, brother, uncle and a true friend to many.

He is survived by Jan Welsh Doremus, his loving wife; his daughters, Jodi Ann Doremus and Elizabeth Jo Doremus Oren; and his dearest granddaughter, Ashlyn Elizabeth Oren all from Dunncannon. He leaves behind his dear brothers, Jeffrey L. Doremus, Lawrenceville, N.J., and Donald E Doremus, East Berlin, Pa.; and sisters, Linda Doremus Appleton, New Hope, Pa., Carol Doremus Kupp, Middletown, Pa., Susan Doremus Smith, Elizabethtown, Pa., along with many nieces and nephews who adored him, and his buddy Elijah Boatsman of Lewes, who has been strong and always there for him through these last few months of his life.

A unique service with friends and family sharing memories of Bob, which are sure to be numerous and heartwarming, will be held at noon, Saturday, Aug. 11, by the ocean, which he loved, at Shawn’s Hideaway Camp Park near Rehoboth Beach.

In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully being accepted to help cover medical expenses by sending checks to In Memory of Robert William Doremus, 3145 Aquetong Road, Doylestown, PA 18902.
