Roger Adrian Couture, turf mechanic

Roger Adrian Couture, 74, of Milton passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 21, 2021.  He was the beloved husband of Marilyn Couture; father of Linda and Michael Couture; stepfather of Patrick Blackwood; grandfather of Ryan Blackwood and Abigail Couture; brother of Ray, Roy, Paul, and Ann Couture, Nancy Buckley, Barbara Slowik, Joan Moore, and the late Jackie Thompson.

Roger was born June 18, 1947, in Holyoke, Mass., to the late Napoleon and Marguerite Couture. In his youth he loved cars and played the drums. He moved to Maryland in 1972 where he worked as a turf mechanic at Columbia Country Club in Chevy Chase,    Md., for 38 years. He retired in April 2010, and after Marilyn retired in 2013 they moved to Delaware in September 2014. 

This amazing man spent his remaining years in Delaware living his life to the fullest. His unique, unfaltering sense of humor will always remain. He had the time of his life surrounded by those brave enough to call him "best friend.”

Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Blvd. West, Silver Spring, Md., (valet parking), where funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 29, at 11 a.m., with burial at Parklawn Memorial Park at noon; graveside service open to all. Reception to follow.

For our dear friends in Milton, a celebration of Roger’s life will be held at a later date.
