Rotary all aboard the Jolley Trolley for First Fridays in Dover

January 12, 2019

Three local Rotary clubs have teamed to support the Jolly Trolley, an initiative of the Downtown Dover Partnership that provides free transportation to downtown businesses from 5 to 8 p.m. on First Fridays from January through May.

The trolley is being sponsored by three Dover Rotary Clubs: Dover Capital City, Dover Colonial and Dover Downtown.

The first passengers for the inaugural run of the Jolley Trolley mini-bus boarded outside the Dover library for a tour of downtown businesses where they could shop, eat, and be entertained by local artists and musicians. The library featured events of its own. In the loop, 10 stops were featured, with visitors able to jump on or off at any stop. Deborah Edwards, assistant governor of Rotary District 7630 and a member of Dover Capital City Rotary, served as the tour guide.

"As community service organizations, Rotary's three Dover clubs were delighted to collaborate in support of Downtown Dover's efforts to revive First Fridays during the winter months," said Edwards.
