Route 9-Sand Hill Road intersection reopens in Georgetown

Route 9/East Market Street, between Sand Hill Road and Roger Avenue, Georgetown, has reopened. The segment of road, closed since May 1, is part of the Georgetown East Gateway Improvements project.

During the next phase of the projects, the Airport Road leg of the intersection will be closed starting Saturday, June 12, and remain closed throughout summer. It will reopen before Sussex Academy starts its 2021-22 school year. When Airport Road reopens at the end of summer, motorists will be using the new and improved signalized intersection.
