Sadie Hylton Bishop, homemaker, dedicated caregiver

Sadie Hylton Bishop, 85, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family.   

She was born May 1, 1936, to the late Samuel and Lilly Bishop Hylton in Bud Mountain, W.Va. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death in 2009 by her husband, David C. Bishop; as well as three sisters, Mae Green, Virginia Ward, and Goldie Jacobs; and two brothers, Donald Hylton and Henry Hylton.

Sadie was a homemaker and dedicated caregiver to her late husband of 51 years. She attended The Father’s House Church in Frankford. Sadie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She loved spending time with her family, doing puzzles, needlework and enjoying time outside. Sadie took pride in her family and was always willing to help those in need.

She is survived by her six children: Rebecca Muncer (Joe), David Bishop (Kathy) of Millsboro, Beverly Brown of Frankford, Daniel Bishop (Chrissey) of Laurel, Glenda Bollinger (Eric) of Frankford, and Carlos Bishop (Beth) of Laurel. She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren: Christopher (Lindsey), Matthew (Emily), David (Daniel), Chris (Kelli), Robby, Seth B. Raymond (Paige), Seth, Anthony, Ashley, Amanda (James), Scott (Kayla), Jennifer (Raymond), Logan (Kelsey), and Nathan. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren: Jaden, Sadie, Gracie, Alyssa, Alexis, Adalyn, Helena, Mason, Gavin, Rayann, Parker, and Shelby; as well as extended family and friends.  

A viewing will be held from noon to 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 19, with graveside service at 1 p.m., at Bell Cemetery in Bud Mountain.  Pastor Nathan Lane will officiate.
