Samantha Bateman to exhibit at Bella Luna

Local artist Samantha Bateman will host a solo art show of her most recent paintings at Bella Luna, 127 Rehoboth Ave., starting with an opening reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30.
Paintings for the show consist of fruit and vegetables in quirky still lifes. The oil paintings are layered thick and highlight color and texture. The paintings vary in shape, size and price range. Light refreshments will be served
Bateman is a 2007 Cape Henlopen High School graduate and is now a sophomore attending the University of Delaware. She is studying in the fine arts department with a concentration in painting.
She has won numerous awards including a gold key from Scholastic Art and scholarships from Rehoboth Art league, Fifth Avenue Jewelers and the Rotary Club.
