Sand tiger shark caught off Savannah Beach

Chris Lopez was fishing just south of Savannah Beach in Lewes at sunset Oct. 4, when his “rod looked like a piece of licorice. It was bent so much.” It turns out he hooked a sand tiger shark. 

“After an hour of battling this beast, I was able to land it with no incident except for being worn out,” he said.
