Sawgrass neighbors seek 100th birthday cards by Dec. 5

Sawgrass community member Irene Dash will turn 100 years old Saturday, Dec. 5.  

While her family can’t throw a party to celebrate, her friends are seeking the help and kindness of neighbors and local residents to shower her with 100 cards full of birthday wishes. Cards may be mailed to Irene Dash, PO Box 1365, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971. 

All are welcome to participate in a car parade for Irene with lineup beginning at 10:30 a.m., Dec. 5, in the Sawgrass neighborhood. Vehicles should come through gate 1, the north clubhouse entrance on Betsy Ross Boulevard. At 11 a.m., vehicles will begin to process past the birthday celebrant to hold up signs and extend best wishes.

The vehicle parade rain date will be Sunday, Dec. 6.
