Labor Day’s passing signals the start of school in the Cape Region, as thousands of students dusted off backpacks and set alarms to kick off the 2024-25 academic year.
In Lewes, the Cape Henlopen School District opened its 10th school, as Frederick D. Thomas Middle welcomed pupils on the former site of Shields Elementary.
