Sen. Carper visits Garey Farm in Felton to see FSA investments

September 24, 2017

Sen. Tom Carper recently visited the three-generation, family-operated Garey Farm in Felton. Along with Delaware Department of Agriculture Deputy Secretary Kenny Bounds and Farm Service Agency Acting Director Robin Talley, Carper saw firsthand how Farm Service Agency loan products are helping improve the farm's operations.

The Garey farm received a low-interest Farm Storage Facility Loan from FSA to build a grain storage facility, dryer and weigh station. Farm storage allows farmers to avoid selling grain when prices are at a seasonal low and helps them manage their income.

Carper was joined by Bob Garey, Alan Garey and his wife Jenny, their sons Cole and Clay, and their nephew Collin.
