Chabad of Southern Delaware held its fourth annual Shabbat Under the Stars July 11 near Lewes.
The event offered cherished traditions that celebrate community, faith and unity. The evening drew about 70 people, a number that is steadily increasing each year.
This year’s guest speaker was Jonathan Harounoff, Israel’s international spokesperson to the United Nations.
“For Jews who live here year round, there are many programs and Shabbat dinners to come to,” said Rabbi Sholom Vogel. “For those who are just in town for the summer, we want to give them the opportunity to connect with the local Jewish community and give them the opportunity to celebrate Shabbat in a communal and beautiful way.”
