Shorebreak Lacrosse defeats Riptide in DE Turf Summer League

DE Turf’s Men’s Summer Lacrosse League kicked off its fourth season June 9. The seven-week league features Monday night games, culminating in playoffs and a championship.

The league attracts players of all ages from across Delaware who are passionate about continuing to play competitive lacrosse. From current college students to seasoned veterans, participants enjoy high-level competition in a welcoming environment.

“We’re proud to provide a place for men who love the game to continue playing their passion,” said DE Turf Executive Director Dan Yearick. “The level of play and camaraderie we see each season makes Monday nights special here at DE Turf.”

This year’s league comprises Shorebreak Lacrosse, Riptide Restoration, PSU Pool Boys and the Flaming Windows.

Opening night featured Shorebreak Lacrosse defeating Riptide 12-11 in overtime, and the PSU Pool Boys topping Flaming Windows 14-3 in the first game. 

 

Dan has worked for the Cape Gazette for more than 30 years as a photographer and reporter, covering high school sports and happenings around eastern Sussex County. He won a photography award from the National Newspaper Association, and numerous awards from the Maryland, Delaware, D.C. Press Association. A Delaware native, Dan graduated from Cape in 1972 and returned as a teacher and coach in the 1980s. He retired from the classroom in 2016. He was inducted into Cape High’s Legends Stadium in 2016. In his spare time, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife, two sons, grandchildren and dogs.
