Sidelines: Keeping it short

February 15, 2019

Baseball spring training has officially started and I am really pleased about that. The distraction of following spring training helps get us through the rest of the winter.

The only news that is coming out of the Phillies’ training camp is that the Phillies signed their best pitcher, Aaron Nola, to a four-year contract extension.

None of the big free agents has signed anywhere as of yet. I believe baseball should come up with a rule that all free agents have to sign by February 1. So far, there are still 100 free agent players who have not signed with a team. That's just crazy or maybe its something else, I'm just saying.

The NBA All-Star break has begun. The Philadelphia 76ers are in fourth place in the Eastern Conference and I do believe that they will be able to make it to the finals in this conference this year. To no one’s surprise, the Golden State Warriors will most likely win another championship before Kevin Durant becomes a free agent next year.

There really isn’t much news to report in the sports world this week, so, like I said ... keeping it short.

See you on the sidelines!
