Simpler won’t put party over people

October 29, 2024

A recent letter to the editor in this paper written by Rep. Kim Williams caught my eye. In it, Rep. Williams speaks of how Claire Snyder-Hall will be an excellent addition to the Democrat Caucus in Dover. The reason it caught my eye is because Rep. Williams didn’t speak to how Snyder-Hall would address any of the issues in RD14, but instead how great it would be to have another dependable Democrat vote in the House.

Folks, this is exactly the problem. The cult of Democrats who vote party rather than their constituents is not what we need. Holding the office of representative means you represent the people who elected you – not a political party. Voting party is not in the best interest of the district.

Mike Simpler will be an independent voice in Dover. He has exhibited leadership in his position as president of the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company. He knows the district and many of the residents. He has very deep roots in Sussex County and will work hard to advance the interests of Sussex County.

I urge you to vote for Mike Simpler during early voting or on Election Day Tuesday, Nov. 5.
