Know Your Numbers was the theme for the Sisterhood Book Club’s recent gathering with a focus on healthy meal preparation.
Through individual screenings, nurse Rosalyn Daisey helped members learn optimal health levels and their own numbers for blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol and body weight.
Chef Cynthia Anderson-Clay, author of, “The Art of Healthy Cooking: A Journey To A Healthier You,” explained how to eat healthier without salt or sugar, using organic seasonings. She had each person prepare their own colorful Mediterranean bowl.
To conclude the evening, Dr. Danielle Giddins led the group in breathing and relaxation techniques that can help reduce effects of stress.
