The annual Revival House Slower Lower Short Film Festival is set to begin at 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 20, at the Milton Theatre, 110 Union St., Milton.
Festival organizers welcome filmmakers of all ages to submit their original works for consideration. Seasoned professionals and up-and-coming visionaries alike are encouraged to share their stories with a big-screen audience. As with all Revival House local film festivals, there is no cost to submit films for consideration.
From dramas to comedies, from animation to sci-fi, the Slower Lower Short Film Festival celebrates the artistry and storytelling of filmmakers from around the area. The screenings will be followed by an onstage question-and-answer session with the filmmakers, who will talk about their creative processes.
The deadline is midnight, Friday, May 15, to submit films that are fewer than 30 minutes in length. To enter, filmmakers must submit a waiver found on the Revival House website, therevivalhousetheater.com, and send a link for their film to therevivalhouse@gmail.com.
Selected filmmakers will be notified via email and will have their work screened at the historic Milton Theatre.
"The Slower Lower Short Film Festival is truly a festival to celebrate the talents of our area’s local filmmaking community," said Rob Rector, co-creator of Revival House. "We had such a strong lineup for our past Slower Lower Festival events and are looking forward to showcasing the latest from locals.”
