Because of the COVID-19 state of emergency, 2020 will be remembered as the year of the mail-in ballot. For the July 7 Delaware presidential primary, all registered Republicans and Democrats received a ballot application by mail. A limited number of polling locations are open until 8 p.m. for in-person voting. Throughout the state, 80 of the normal 286 polling spots are open with 24 operating in Sussex County, including six in the Cape Region.
On the Delaware ballot are Republicans Donald Trump and Roque “Rocky” De La Fuente and Democrats Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.
