Southern Delaware Chorale collaborates for April 30 concert

April 16, 2023

For its final concert of the 2022-23 season, the Southern Delaware Chorale will collaborate with local chorus director and organist Doug Yetter to present A Spring Bouquet, at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 30, at Epworth United Methodist Church, 19285 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth Beach.

Yetter is the CAMP Rehoboth Chorus conductor and a co-founder of Clear Space Theatre Company with years of experience in the musical theater business as musical director, actor, composer, director and producer. He will provide the organ accompaniment for the Southern Delaware Chorale’s performance of Franz Schubert’s short “Mass in G Major.”

This beautiful standard of the choral repertoire will also feature soloists from the choir. Dr. Colin Armstrong, Southern Delaware Chorale artistic director and conductor, said he is consistently impressed with the depth and breadth of talent in the region, and he looks forward to highlighting some of this talent from within the choir.

Soloists in the Schubert mass are sopranos Lisa Long, Gwendolyn Miller and Joyce Livelli; tenor Pierre Faillot; and bass/baritone Rick Trice. The audience will be treated to other solo features by Miller, baritone Blake Blaire and flautist Toni Barrett. Rounding out the concert will be beautiful choral settings of spring poems by Sara Teasdale and Sydney Bell, an arrangement of “April in Paris” and an updated version of the Renaissance madrigal, “Now is the Month of Maying.”

Tickets are available at the door or online at southerndelawarechorale.org.
