Southern Delaware Tourism unveils new Culinary Coast website
Southern Delaware Tourism has expanded its digital footprint by launching a new website focusing solely on the destination’s Culinary Coast.
Culinary tourism involves visiting destinations to explore the local culture through authentic local food and drink. It includes activities like culinary trails, cooking classes, food festivals, food tours and farm weekends. And, thanks in large part to social media and the universality of phone cameras, it’s booming and showing no signs of slowing down.
The purpose of the new website is to offer this growing travel segment one-stop shopping for in-depth information about Southern Delaware’s unique, rich, vibrant and storied culinary scene in order to encourage visitation and as a tool to assist in travel planning.
The new Culinary Coast website links from the Eat & Drink tab on Southern Delaware Tourism’s main website and also has a standalone URL, CulinaryCoastDE.com. Website content includes restaurant, brewery, winery and distillery listings; culinary events, classes and tours; and farmers markets and local specialties. It also showcases a blog that welcomes guest posts from Culinary Coast chefs, restaurateurs and producers; a Culinary Coast news section; local chef bios; and agritourism and aquaculture components in development.
Southern Delaware Tourism’s Culinary Coast brand tagline is Life Tastes Better Here. People who live in or visit the area already know that to be true. In recent years, Southern Delaware has become the coastal culinary capital of the Mid-Atlantic for so many reasons: the incredible concentration of fantastic restaurants and award-winning chefs; more than a dozen wineries, distilleries, breweries and a meadery; the booming agriculture industry; its thriving, nationally recognized farmers market culture; and many locally produced specialties.
This new website allows Southern Delaware Tourism to more effectively spread the word that Life Tastes Better Here to travel writers and culinary tourists who aren’t yet familiar with this destination. Check out the new website at CulinaryCoastDE.com.
