St. Andrews installs icons

Eastern Orthodox iconographer Nicholas Papas installed icons at Saint Andrew the Apostle Antiochan Orthodox Church in Lewes Sept. 5. Papas' vocation and ministry is the painting and installation of icons throughout the United States.
The Rev. Boniface Black said "Icons are windows into heaven, bringing worshippers closer to Jesus Christ and the Saints."
The current project to illuminate the church in the traditional manner is a big step forward for the local congregation. The Divine Liturgy is celebrated every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. The church will hold a Fall Festival Friday and Saturday, Nov. 7-8.
