St. Peter’s Art Show a big success

August 4, 2023

On behalf of St. Peter’s Church, I’d like to thank the community of Lewes for all its support in the success of our 57th annual Art Show held July 1. We have so many people to thank for making it successful. The City of Lewes, its mayor and city council, its city manager, the streets and public works departments, and the police and fire departments deserve special thanks for faithfully supporting this community fundraiser for 57 years. We appreciate the generosity of Berkshire Hathaway Home-Services and the Lewes Senior Activity Center for providing shuttles that transported patrons to and from the remote parking lot; and M&T Bank for the use of its parking lot for exhibitors. We are grateful for all of the artisans and artists who came to share their wonderful artwork, and to all the patrons who came out to see and acquire such stunning works of art. Many of the artists provided items for the silent auction and raffle.

A big thanks goes to the Cape Gazette for its excellent coverage of the art show. We thank Cape Henlopen School District, Lewes Presbyterian Church and Bethel United Methodist Church for providing event parking. Thank you, neighbors on Second, Mulberry, Third and Market streets for being hospitable to us, our exhibitors and visitors. Last, but not least, thanks to the art show committee members, St. Peter’s Church staff, and volunteers for their steadfast support. Net proceeds from the art show will benefit local community outreach programs and individuals in need. We feel blessed to be in such a welcoming and supportive city. Thank you to everyone who made this day such a great success, and we hope to see you at our 58th art show July 6, 2024.

The Rev. Jeffrey Austin Ross
Rector
