Stanitis named Delaware State Parks Lifeguard of the Year
Travis Stanitis, a lifeguard at the Indian River Inlet beach, has been named Delaware State Parks Beach Patrol Lifeguard of the Year.
“His work ethic and determination throughout the summer was unparalleled,” said Capt. Bailey Noel.
Noel said he led by example and made multiple rescues this summer. He was also part of the competition team, participating at USLA Nationals in South Padre Island, Texas.
“He always asked what he could do to become better at the job,” Noel said. “It was a pleasure working with Travis and getting to see him grow as a guard and competitor. We could all look to Travis as what a guard should strive to be, and I thank him for his service during our 2024 season.”
