The Central Delaware Economic Summit, focusing on Delaware's recreational marijuana industry and its impact on local businesses, is set for 8 a.m. to noon, Tuesday, Sept. 17, in the Delaware Tech Terry Campus Del-One Conference Center in Dover.
Delivering the keynote address will be Robert Coupe, Delaware marijuana commissioner, whose agency, the Office of the Marijuana Commissioner, is responsible for regulating the recreational marijuana industry in the First State.
In addition to Coupe’s presentation, the summit will also feature a moderated discussion among business professionals from the sectors impacted by Delaware’s passage of the Marijuana Control Act, which became effective July 5, 2023.
The discussion will be moderated by Paul Hyland, deputy commissioner in the Office of the Marijuana Commissioner, and will include panelists Molly DiBianca, member in charge of the Clark Hill Law Firm; Dr. Chris Moody, Delaware Tech’s associate vice president for workforce development and community education; Rep. Edward Osienski, D-Newark; Jennifer Stark, CEO, co-founder, and co-owner of The Farm; and Stephen Wright, vice president, commercial relationship manager at Shore United Bank.
Hosted by the Delaware Tech Terry Campus and presented in collaboration with the Central Delaware Business and Entrepreneurship Consortium, the summit annually brings together leaders in business, government, education, and the community to focus on improving the economic conditions and quality of life in central Delaware.
The summit is only being offered in person, and registration is $35, which includes breakfast. Registrations must be completed online at dtcc.edu/economicsummit.
