Stewart and Galanty win in Rehoboth Beach

Candidate Goode finishes third; winners to take office Sept. 19

In a three-person race for two commissioner seats, Susan Stewart and Chris Galanty emerged victorious in Rehoboth Beach’s 2025 municipal election.

The election took place Saturday, Aug. 9. Stewart finished first with 849 votes; Galanty finished second with 806 votes; and Jeffrey Goode finished third with 314 votes.

In all there were 1,111 votes cast – 637 in person and 474 absentee. A total of 1,691 voters were registered. Galanty and Stewart will be sworn in for their three-year terms during the city’s organizational meeting Friday, Sept. 19.

Sitting Commissioners Edward Chrzanowski and Francis “Bunky” Markert did not seek re-election. Chrzanowski served as commissioner for two terms, while Markert served one.
