Stonewall PAC to honor LGBTQ+ legislators Aug. 21

July 14, 2021

Delaware Stonewall PAC, a political action committee dedicated to advocating on behalf of the LGBTQ+ residents of Delaware, will honor the three LGBTQ+ legislators who represent Delaware in the state Legislature during its summer fundraiser set for 4 to 6 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 21, at Lavender Fields in Milton.

Sen. Sarah McBride, D-Wilmington North, Sen. Marie Pinkney, D-Bear, and Rep. Eric Morrison, D-Glasgow, will be honored not only for their trailblazing victories but also for their continuing efforts to ensure equal protection under the law for all.

Since its inception Feb. 1, 2003, Delaware Stonewall has supported legislation which promotes and protects the rights of LGBTQ+ residents, and candidates who are pro-equality. Almost all the money the PAC raises goes to support those candidates.

“When we began, nondiscrimination and marriage equality in Delaware were nonexistent, and the thought of an LGBTQ+ person being elected was no more than a pipe dream. We set those goals as our mission, and now we are so proud to say that we have accomplished that,” said Peter Schott, Stonewall president. “We still have a lot more to do, and Stonewall as well as our honorees will work toward accomplishing those goals.”
