Students bring in pennies for paws
H.O. Brittingham and Rehoboth Elementary schools are participating in the Pennies for Paws fundraiser this year from Tuesday, April 4, through Thursday, April 21. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go toward helping homeless animals at the Delaware SPCA, the local low-kill shelter.
Last year, H.O.B. raised more than $700 to buy food and cat hammocks and to help pay for longtime resident canine Lestat's ear surgery.
The class with the heaviest box of pennies at each school will win a pizza party and a visit from a special guest.
Some students who have already begun to save their pennies include in back ( l-r) MarJanay Brown, Carmen Hood, Eduardo Saez, Carson Pulley, and Everardo Carillo. In front are Cinthia Montelongo, Brandon Trieu, Taleah Williams, and Braulio Luis.
