One of the featured gardens was Milton Historical Society’s pollinator garden on Union Street. Planted in April with more than 300 plants and 58 different species, each specimen offers nectar, pollen or shelter. Milton Community Foundation recently awarded a grant for a rain barrel project; the barrel will be painted and used to water the many plants.
Six more gardens were on the properties of Milton or Milton-area residents, each with its own special features such as a G-scale railroad weaving through or a serene setting just off the Broadkill River.
