Superstars in Business celebrates 20 years of excellence

SoDel’s Kammerer to be keynote speaker Nov. 7
November 7, 2018

From manufacturing to rescuing animals, and from craft beer to financial services, the Marvin S. Gilman Superstars in Business Award recognizes all kinds of small businesses and nonprofits. In its 20 years, this distinguished award, a program of the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Alliance, has seen hundreds of applications and given top honors to a variety of impressive organizations throughout the state.

This year’s winners will be celebrated from 11:15 a.m. to 1:45 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 7, in the Gold Ballroom at Hotel du Pont in Wilmington.

Keynote speaker Scott Kammerer is a past winner himself, and he knows the positive impact the Superstars in Business program has on a company and its employees. He won in 2015 for his notable and growing empire SoDel Concepts. Both Kammerer and his company have achieved many well-deserved honors and accolades. The state chamber is pleased to see a past winner enjoy such success, and to have Kammerer back to keynote the awards luncheon.

Other notable Superstars include Dogfish Head, Special Olympics Delaware, Precision AirConvey, Sunday Breakfast Mission, milliCare by EBC, and EDiS. Also, a new recipient of the Gilman Bowl will join the ranks of Albert R. Morris, Barry A. Crozier, The Levin Family, Michael S. Uffner, Fred C. Sears II, Donald T. Fulton, Julian H. "Pete" Booker, Richard G. "Dick" Hatfield, Frank and Donna Masley, and Peter Morrow. This winner, exemplifying leadership within the community, is kept secret until the luncheon.

The 2018 Superstars in Business are Delaware Humane Association (nonprofit category), Promo Victory (1-24 employees), Cover & Rossiter (25-59 employees) and Kuehne Company (60-150 employees). Awards of Excellence will be given to Exceptional Care for Children (nonprofit), Holmes Smith Consulting Services Inc. (1-24 employees), Ferris Home Improvements (25-59 employees) and Home Instead Senior Care (60-150 employees).
