Sussex Academy juniors aim to crush cancer
Sussex Academy juniors Emma Mullen and Brianna Sordi are planning to crush blood cancer with the help of their friends.
The two students have been nominated as candidates for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, and are leading the legacy team they formed called Cancer Crushers.
Emma and Brianna said they became involved with LLS for the past two years to honor family and friends who have been diagnosed with cancer and to help find a cure for blood cancer to prevent others from experiencing the loss of a loved one.
The two teens have set a $5,000 fundraising goal, and are raising funds through dine-and-donate dinners at local restaurants, individual donations and corporate sponsorships.
