The Sussex Academy soccer squad powered to a 6-0 win over the Ravens Sept. 14 at Sussex Tech. The Seahawks move to 3-0 on the season, while the Ravens are now 0-2.
Seahawks senior Michael Daniello scored three times and had two assists in the game. Junior Justin Mendoza hit the twine twice, while freshman Andres Romero scored a goal and had two assists. Freshman Keenan Williams also had an assist.
The Seahawks outshot the Ravens 17-7 and held a 10-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Sussex Academy senior keeper Tyler Hudson stopped seven Tech shot attempts, while Tech goalie Anthony Willey made five saves.


Dan has worked for the Cape Gazette for more than 30 years as a photographer and reporter, covering high school sports and happenings around eastern Sussex County. He won a photography award from the National Newspaper Association, and numerous awards from the Maryland, Delaware, D.C. Press Association. A Delaware native, Dan graduated from Cape in 1972 and returned as a teacher and coach in the 1980s. He retired from the classroom in 2016. He was inducted into Cape High’s Legends Stadium in 2016. In his spare time, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife, two sons, grandchildren and dogs.
