Sussex County Republican Women award scholarships

The Sussex County Republican Women’s Club met June 23 at Mulligan’s Pointe in Georgetown.

Featured guest speaker was the Hon. Jane Brady, Delaware GOP chair. She discussed Delaware’s legislative process and highlighted continuing opportunities to promote conservative values.

The recipients of the Lillian Martin Memorial Scholarship were announced, and their awards were presented.

The $2,500 award winner is Riley Noel Klopp, a graduate of Cape Henlopen High School who will be attending Franklin & Marshall College to pursue a career in law.

The $1,500 award winner is Gabrielle “Gabi” Delaney McCormick, a graduate of Sussex Academy who will be attending the University of South Carolina as an English major.

Club members congratulate these outstanding young women for their achievements, academic excellence and exemplary values.

The club will reconvene with a dinner meeting Wednesday, Sept. 22.
