Sussex Gardeners set annual plant auction May 18

The Sussex Gardeners will hold their annual plant auction at 1 p.m., Thursday, May 18,  at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 20276 Bay Vista Road, Rehoboth Beach.

The public is invited to bid on a variety of plants contributed by Sussex Gardeners members, including annuals, perennials and houseplants. This is a great opportunity to select new plants in time for spring planting, and to discuss their care and preferred growing conditions with garden club members. 

Founded in 1937, Sussex Gardeners is one of the oldest garden clubs in the United States. Its members have interests in gardening, horticulture, landscape and floral design, and civic and environmental responsibility. Community outreach programs involve garden therapy, environmental education and civic beautification.
