January 2, 2025

Sussex County Habitat for Humanity hosted its annual Hope Builders Breakfast Dec. 4, bringing together community leaders, donors and supporters to celebrate the organization's impact and ongoing initiatives.

Highlighting the impact of Sussex Habitat's various programs and partnerships that create affordable housing solutions in Sussex County, the event raised nearly $40,000 for this ongoing work.

Attendees heard powerful testimonials from community members directly impacted by Sussex Habitat's work, including a current homeowner and a recipient of home repairs through the organization's collaboration with TidalHealth.

Aaron Rogers, general manager of Pro Exteriors Delmarva, shared insights about the importance of community partnerships, highlighting his company's contribution of four roofs in partnership with GAF and three additional roofs funded entirely by Pro Exteriors Delmarva for habitat homes built in Sussex County this year.

"These partnerships and collaborations are vital to our mission," said Katie Millard, director of advocacy and development at Sussex County Habitat for Humanity. "Together with our community partners, we're able to serve more families and create lasting change in Sussex County."

The Hope Builders Breakfast showcased how SCHFH programs extend beyond new home construction to include home repairs and community development initiatives, all working together to provide affordable housing solutions for local families.
